Solo Quest[]
Single-player quests have four difficulty levels: Casual, Normal, Challenging, and Heroic. Casual quests are free, while Normal and Challenging quests cost gold; you also have the choice of using Greenheart tokens to play a Challenging quest. Heroic quests are presented with each level you progress, and involve a boss battle. A new Heroic quest will not appear until you complete the previous one.
Regions[]
There are five Regions that quests may take place in. Quests received from Olvan may take place in Nilo, Zhong, Amaya, or Eura. Quests received from Worthy take place in Sadre.
Quests taking place in Nilo, Zhong, Amaya, and Eura have two different sub-regions that can be differentiated by the Location Icon and the last portion of the Location Name.
Quests taking place in Sadre have three Location Icons, but there are no sub-regions. All Location Names and Location Icons are completely randomized.
Nilo | Jackal Wildebeest Black Widow Zebra Lion
Zhong | Black Bear Sika Deer Lynx Whip Snake Tanuki
Amaya | Jaguar Coyote Armadillo Anaconda Raccoon
Eura | Brown Bear Raccoon Elk Spider Adder Badger
Sadre | Spider Armadillo Bear Whip Snake Adder Anaconda Black Widow |
Each region has its own set of Bile animals (or infected animals). The Bile animals will typically be 1-3 levels higher than you. Some animals also have special attacks, such as:
- Bears will perform an circular area attack around them that slows players in and around the circle.
- Big cats (lions, lynxes, jaguars etc.) will stand up on their hind legs and quickly attack players that are directly in front of them for a few seconds.
- Hoofed animals (wildebeest, zebras, elk etc.) will stand a certain distance away from a player and then charge, resulting in a stun. They can also heal themselves.
- Spiders poison players when they attack.
- Raccoons and tanukis will use vine growth, which will slow players caught in the area of effect.
- Snakes will spit balls of poison at players.
The difficulty of a Bile animal is determined by the color of the ring beneath them and the number of skulls by its tag. In 2013, the difficulty was said to be representative of how much Bile was given to the animal. It's unknown if there was a similar explanation for Wyrm controlled animals.
The order of difficulty from easiest to hardest is as follows:
Green (no icon)
Yellow (1 skull)- May have special skills that can slow or poison you
Orange (2 skulls)- Do increased damage and will use skills regularly
Red (3 skulls)- Increased health and damage; will use skills regularly
Purple (crown icon)- Used exclusively by boss enemies, like Conquerors and "talisman guardians."[1]
Erdas Quests[]
Any single-player quests received at Olvan's quest board are considered Erdas Quests, as these quests take place Nilo, Zhong, Amaya, and Eura. Among these quests are repeatable quests with no plot progression and Heroic Quests, which are unable to be repeated and follow the plot of the first arc of the books.
Due to the events depicted, Heroic Quests must take place between Wild Born and Rise and Fall. Because of the presence of Bile-controlled animals, repeatable Erdas Quests may take place between Wild Born and The Evertree at the latest.
In total, there are 73 repeatable Erdas quests with unique names. These quests have 8 styles of objective. Some styles of objective may also have variation in quest dialogue depending on which character is the quest's Sender or which Location the quest takes place.

Sadre Quests[]
Any single-player quests received at Worthy's quest board are considered Sadre Quests, as these quests take place in Erdas' underground cave systems; a place otherwise known as Sadre. Among these quests are repeatable quests with no plot progression and Cavern Heroic Quests, which are unable to be repeated and offer a storyline that takes place during the second arc of the books.
The Cavern Heroic Quests must have started around the events of Broken Ground, as it was referenced in the book. Because of the presence of Wyrm-infected animals, repeatable Sadre Quests may take place between Immortal Guardians and The Burning Tide at the latest. However, if the inaccessibility of Greenhaven during that period is accounted for, then repeatable Sadre Quests can only take place between Immortal Guardians and Broken Ground.
In total, there are 38 repeatable Sadre quests with unique names. Unlike Erdas quests, Sadre quests do not have different variants of dialogue depending on Sender or Location.
Cavern Heroic Quests[]
Unlike Heroic quests, Cavern quests are not restricted by level. A new quest is immediately unlocked after completing the previous one until the final quest, Confront Maddox. Both Cavern quests and Heroic quests can be played simultaneously.
List of Cavern heroic quests:

Cooperative Quest[]
You can choose to join up to three other random players in a Cooperative Quest. These quests are designed in "waves", with each round increasing in difficulty. A boss is randomly chosen, along with randomized Bile animals, in each wave. At wave eight, the player(s) comes to a large, circular courtyard. After the players beat wave eight, they return to the area they started in. Upon defeating wave ten, there is a possibility to earn a Greenheart token.
A defeated player will teleport to an empty room and be given a countdown until they are revived and sent back into the wave. If all players are defeated, then the game is over. The option to spectate allies is available through the glowing orb pedestals, each shining with a different color. After the boss is defeated and the round ends, a menu will pop up with the results and rewards along with the next round's enemies. Items and XP can be earned each round and players on the side bar will be given a title for their performance during the wave. It will give the player the option to either continue to the next wave or leave.
Versus Quest[]
In addition to Cooperative Quests, Versus Quests are also multiplayer. Four is the maximum amount of players, with two on the Greencloaks's side, and two on the Conquerors's side. The objective is to destroy the enemy's base and towers.
The game has two phases: attack and defend. During attack, one team gets four AI soldiers that attack the enemy until their health runs out. The defenders try to protect their base and towers. There are two towers on each team's side, and both are able to fire a projectile at the enemy team. Once all four of the AI soldiers are down, the roles switch.
Another feature is power-ups. One way to get them is by "killing" an opponent. When any enemy soldier is defeated, the opposing team gains double attack power for 10 seconds. There are two areas on the map where additional power-ups can be obtained.
