It once gained them power and respect from the Zhongese military, but it mainly gives Yin's father his title and ensures that Yin will have a good future and a well-bred husband. But when Yu had a deadly illness, Yin bartered the sword with the healer Kuan for a powerful medicine. And some point in the near future when Yin becomes a Greencloak, she wields the Sword of Tang, proving that Kuan's promise to sell the sword back to her family was true.
