The Siege of Jano Rion was one of the final battles towards the Fall of Zhong. In Meilin's Nectar ceremony in Wild Born, she witnesses the siege in a matter of mere minutes. The Conquerors had marched past the wall and attacked the ceremony. The reason for this being so easy is they set up a diversion earlier, in Xin Kao Dai, where most of the Zhongese forces were. Most of the soldiers were from Jano Rion, hiding in plain sight and planning the siege. This caused Sheyu, General Teng, General Chin, and Lenori to take evasive action saving Meilin and dealing with the Conquerors. The Conquerors were relentless and torched many parts of the city. Only a few thought to follow the group eventually cornering the two generals while Meilin and the others escape. Later, it is revealed the two survived and lead the resistance. The Conquerors overpowered the city and took it despite the desperate fight.

Aftermath[]

After felling the city, the Conquerors impending occupation over Zhong was clearer than ever. Meilin will soon grow restless until the true fall of the country. General Teng will lead the loyalists making their base in the Great Bamboo Maze due to the wall being destroyed, later the city like many had been left in ruins all across Zhong.

Trivia[]

  • During the siege General Teng predicted the eventual fall of the nation.
  • Based on General Teng's estimation of the battle, Wild Born may take place almost a year after The Book of Shane: Venom.
