Zerif’s Jackal is Zerif’s former spirit animal. It first appeared in Wild Born.
Appearance[]
In Rise and Fall, Abeke referred to the jackal as a beast, she described it to have alert eyes and sharp teeth.

Rollan thought it was a coyote at first. When Rollan distracted Zerif and tried to run away, he was chased by the jackal; then Olvan appeared, and Zerif withdrew his spirit animal and fled. At the end of the battle with Arax it was said to have a few scratches.
Rise and Fall[]
Zerif’s jackal appears briefly in the very beginning of the book.
Trivia[]
- Zerif never bothered to name it.[1]
- The jackal abandoned Zerif right after their Bile bond was broken.
